Festive Community Project – Pullman Putrajaya Lakeside and the Needy

Putrajaya, 8 August, 2012 – In conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan celebration, the Management and staff of Pullman Putrajaya Lakeside organised a heart-warming breaking of fast dinner for 30 less-privileged children from Baitus Sakinah Wal Mahabbah, Kota Warisan on 8 August 2011.

Baitus Sakinah Wal Mahabbah is an orphanage care home which been registered earlier at Merbok, Kedah. Baitus Sakinah Wal Mahabbah itself means “House of Peace and Love”. Baitus Sakinah Care Home presently has 30 children’s between the age of 7 years and also 12 years of age (17 male and 13 female). These kids are either an orphans or come from unfortunate background family.

The dinner started at 7pm and was held as part of the hotel’s ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) campaign entitled “A Tree For A Child”.  It is a noble initiative in support of Accor’s commitment towards sustainable development specifically in protecting children in need.

Mr Franck Lioson, General Manager of Pullman Putrajaya Lakeside said, “The idea of having the dinner as our community engagement give-back is another effort made by the hotel in nurturing a caring spirit and attitude among its staff for the less fortunate in honouring the holy month of Ramadan.”

The Children and their caretakers were treated to scrumptious Ramadan delights specially prepared by the hotel chefs.

The Management of Pullman Putrajaya Lakeside presented Hari Raya goodies and festive monies to the children.

Aim at providing long term support to the children, the hotel displays a donation box at the hotel lobby to encourage contributions from hotel guests and staff.
